In the second quarter of 2024, the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United States displayed varied performance metrics, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps:
Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in downloads, starting from approximately 333K in the first week of April and peaking at around 375K in mid-June. Weekly active users also trended upwards, growing from 11.5M at the beginning of April to nearly 12.9M by mid-June.
Lyft demonstrated steady download numbers, fluctuating between 230K and 260K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users exhibited a gradual increase, moving from about 5.5M in early April to 5.8M by the end of June.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced a steady rise in downloads, beginning at 144K in the first week of April and reaching 157K by the end of June. Its weekly active users showed some fluctuation, starting at 2.5M in early April, peaking at nearly 2.7M at the end of May, and settling at around 2.5M by late June.
Lyft Driver maintained relatively stable download figures, ranging from 48K to 52K. The app's weekly active users saw a slight increase over the quarter, starting at about 617K in early April and reaching 634K by the end of June.
Lastly, Bolt: Request a Ride showed a consistent upward trend in downloads, beginning at 35K and climbing to 53K by mid-June. The app's weekly active users followed a similar pattern, growing from 46K in early April to 67K by mid-June.
