In the second quarter of 2024, the fast food and fast casual restaurant apps have shown an interesting array of download and user engagement patterns. Sensor Tower's comprehensive data gives us a closer look at how these top performers have fared on a unified platform combining both iOS and Android figures.
McDonald’s - Non-US app downloads saw a peak in late May with over 120K downloads, while weekly active users reached a high of over 2.6M in the same period. The overall trend for downloads fluctuated, starting at around 41K in early April and dipping to approximately 56K by the end of June. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, with notable spikes and a gradual decrease toward the quarter's end.
Burger King Italia maintained a steady download rate, hovering between 21K and 29K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users saw a slight increase, starting at around 226K and reaching up to 238K before slightly declining to 225K by late June.
KFC Italia experienced growth in both downloads and active users. Downloads increased from approximately 18K to over 23K, while weekly active users climbed from 112K to over 130K, before slightly dropping to around 123K.
LA Piadineria showed the most variability in downloads, with an early April figure around 3.4K, a sharp increase to approximately 8.9K in mid-May, and then a decline to about 3.5K by the quarter's end. Active user data for LA Piadineria was not available for this period.
Lastly, Billy Tacos had the lowest numbers among the group, with downloads starting at just over 1K and ending with a slight increase to around 831 by the end of June. Active user data for Billy Tacos was not provided.
