In Q2 2024, the top Fast Food and Fast Casual Restaurants apps in South Africa displayed a range of performance metrics across downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the trends for these apps on a unified platform.
McDonald’s - Non-US experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with around 21K and peaking at approximately 48.6K in the week of April 29. Weekly active users initially saw a decline from 116.7K to 98.4K but then rebounded, ending the quarter at almost 118K.
Spur Family Club maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads ranging from 16.1K to 20.5K. The app's active user base exhibited a consistent pattern, starting at 87.6K and closing the quarter at 96.5K.
KFC South Africa showed a notable variability in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with 22.5K downloads and ending with a similar figure of 22K. The app's active users had a slight downward trend, starting at 233.6K and ending at 227.6K.
Debonairs Pizza South Africa had a mixed performance in downloads, with numbers ranging from 13.7K to 20.9K. The active user trend was relatively stable, starting at 60.8K and fluctuating to end at 58.9K.
Lastly, Burger King SA saw a significant spike in weekly downloads, particularly in the week of May 13 with 36.6K downloads. The app's active user base followed a similar trend, starting at 5.8K and peaking at 22.2K in mid-May, before settling at 10.8K by the end of the quarter.
