In the second quarter of 2024, the fitness and weight loss category saw notable trends across the top applications in Europe on a unified platform. The data, gathered by Sensor Tower, offers a glimpse into user engagement and app monetization during this period.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.2M in early June. Downloads saw a high in mid-April with over 250K, but gradually decreased to around 180K by late June. Weekly active users fluctuated, reaching a high of nearly 4.8M users at the end of April.
YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet also showed an upward trend in revenue, with early April starting at $650K and climbing to just over $670K by early June. Downloads for YAZIO peaked in mid-May at nearly 160K. Active users saw a consistent growth, from 3.2M to over 3.4M by the end of June.
komoot - hike, bike & run had a more varied revenue pattern, with a notable spike to $809K in late May. Download numbers started strong at over 220K in early April, but saw a decrease to around 140K by mid-June. Weekly active users hit their highest at the start of May with over 4.3M, but saw a slight decline towards the end of June.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter maintained a revenue range between $418K and $487K throughout the quarter. Downloads remained fairly consistent, averaging around 90K per week. Active users showed a peak in mid-May with over 3.2M, but generally stayed around the 3.1M mark.
Lastly, Fitbit: Health & Fitness saw its revenue fluctuate, ending the quarter on a high note with a substantial jump to approximately $693K. Downloads were the lowest among the top apps but remained steady around 30K to 38K. The app's active users maintained a steady base, hovering around 2.1M throughout the quarter.
