In the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 MOBA applications in the United States showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here are the highlights from Sensor Tower's data:
Brawl Stars by Supercell demonstrated strong performance throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at around $5.7M in late April and maintained a steady range between $2.7M and $4.9M for most of the quarter. Downloads also saw significant growth, reaching 613K in early May before stabilizing around 322K by the end of June. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, peaking at over 10.2M in late April and ending the quarter with approximately 9.7M users.
Squad Busters, also from Supercell, saw a substantial surge in revenue and user engagement post-release. Weekly revenue skyrocketed to $2.98M in late May, then gradually declined to about $1.4M by the end of June. The app's downloads spiked to 4.48M in late May and then decreased to 256K by the quarter's end. Active users mirrored this pattern, peaking at 3.23M in late May and tapering off to around 1.05M by late June.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from Shanghai Moonton Technology maintained consistent performance. Weekly revenue and downloads were relatively stable, with revenue fluctuating between $490K and $990K, and downloads hovering around 25K to 31K. Weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, increasing from 629K at the beginning of April to about 659K by the end of June.
League of Legends: Wild Rift by Riot Games experienced varied revenue trends, peaking at $698K in late April and dipping to around $228K by mid-June. Download numbers remained stable, averaging around 12K to 14K per week. Active users showed minor fluctuations, with a peak of approximately 240K in early June and ending the quarter with around 216K users.
Pokémon UNITE from The Pokemon Company had a more modest performance compared to others. Weekly revenue averaged around $55K to $68K, while downloads remained steady between 22K and 28K. Active user numbers were consistent, starting at 202K in early April and ending at 188K by late June.
