The second quarter of 2024 saw a dynamic performance from the top 5 music and podcasts apps in the Dominican Republic. Here’s a closer look at the trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these apps, based on Sensor Tower data.
Spotify maintained a consistent download rate throughout Q2, fluctuating between 14K and 16K weekly downloads. Revenue saw a peak at $1.7K in the last week of April and generally hovered around $1.1K to $1.6K for the rest of the quarter. Weekly active users showed minor fluctuations, ending the quarter at approximately 872K users.
YouTube Music experienced a steady increase in revenue, starting at $10.5K in early April and reaching a peak of $13.8K by the end of June. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight uptick in mid-June, peaking at 8.6K. Weekly active users consistently stayed above 500K, with a slight increase towards the quarter's end.
Audiomack's downloads varied, peaking at 5.2K in late May. Revenue showed modest growth, with notable peaks around $56 in late May. Weekly active users saw a slight increase in May, reaching around 38K users before stabilizing towards the end of the quarter.
Shazam's downloads fluctuated, peaking at 4.1K in mid-April before tapering off to around 2.9K by late June. Weekly active users remained steady, averaging around 151K throughout the quarter.
Emisoras Dominicanas Online saw a significant increase in downloads in May, peaking at 3.7K before declining slightly in June. Revenue saw minor activity, peaking at $7 in mid-June. Data for weekly active users was not available.
