In the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 sandbox games on a unified platform in the United States showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here are the key insights:
Roblox demonstrated strong performance with revenue peaking at approximately $15.2M in the week of June 10. Downloads saw a significant increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 675K in mid-June. Weekly active users grew steadily, starting from 30.9M in early April and closing at 34M by the end of June.
Minecraft from Mojang showed a gradual rise in revenue, hitting a peak of about $1M in the final week of June. Downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a notable spike to 364K in late April. Weekly active users increased from 8.2M in early April to roughly 9.3M by the end of June.
Rec Room: Play with Friends experienced modest revenue growth, peaking at $32K in early June. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to 55K in the last week of June. Weekly active users hovered around 170K towards the end of the quarter.
Melon: Sandbox saw a significant rise in revenue, peaking at $42K in mid-June. Downloads increased substantially, reaching about 132K in late June. Weekly active users grew steadily from 1.25M in early April to 1.52M by the end of June.
Find Diamonds! Minecraft Ores from Elad Apps Pty. Ltd. showed a consistent increase in revenue, peaking at $22K in the last week of June. Downloads saw a noticeable rise, reaching 30K in the final week. Weekly active users also increased, starting from 75K in early April and reaching 86K by the end of June.
