State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
The second quarter of 2024 witnessed significant activity in Egypt's social app landscape, with the top 5 apps showing diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on Sensor Tower data.
TikTok saw a consistent upward trend in weekly revenue, starting at around $41K in early April and peaking at approximately $77K by the end of June. Downloads also increased steadily, from 293K in the first week of April to 442K in the final week of June. Active users grew from 15M to nearly 17M over the same period.
Facebook maintained stable revenue, fluctuating between $5.3K and $6.9K weekly. Downloads showed a notable rise from 228K at the start of April to 336K in the last week of June. Active users remained robust, growing slightly from 45M to 46M throughout the quarter.
Instagram experienced stable revenue, with weekly figures ranging from $6K to $8K. Downloads varied, starting at 194K in early April and reaching 242K by the end of June. Active users showed a gradual increase from 11M to 11.5M during the quarter.
Threads, despite generating no revenue, saw its downloads fluctuate, beginning at around 101K in early April and peaking at 135K in the final week of June. Active users grew significantly from 1.6M to 2.8M over the same period.
Bigo Live - Live Streaming App had varying weekly revenue, starting at about $1.3K and peaking at $3.3K. Downloads showed some fluctuation, from 50K in early April to 41K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 540K throughout the quarter.
