In the second quarter of 2024, social networking apps in the Dominican Republic displayed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps:
WhatsApp Messenger Throughout Q2 2024, WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, peaking at approximately 85K in mid-April but experiencing a dip to around 60K by the end of April. Downloads rebounded to nearly 80K by the end of June. Weekly active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 4.9M and reaching close to 5M by the end of the quarter.
Facebook Facebook's download numbers fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at 81K in early April, dipping to around 61K by the end of April, and then rising again to approximately 88K in mid-June. Revenue saw a peak of $2.5K in early June, with notable increases in mid-May and mid-June. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 7M with minor fluctuations.
Telegram Messenger Telegram Messenger experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at 38K in early April and peaking at 41K by mid-June. Revenue saw a peak at $1.7K in late April and remained steady around $1.5K towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained consistent at approximately 475K to 480K throughout the quarter.
Messenger Messenger's downloads showed variability, starting at 71K in early April, dipping to about 47K by the end of April, and then rising again to around 65K by mid-June. Active users consistently increased from 1.4M in early April to 1.5M by the end of June.
Threads Threads saw a gradual increase in downloads, beginning at 15K in early April and reaching approximately 22K by early June. Active users showed a significant rise, starting at 256K and peaking at 402K by mid-June, before a slight drop to 289K by the end of the quarter.
