As the second quarter of 2024 wraps up, we've taken a close look at the performance of the top virtual fitness programs in the United Kingdom, courtesy of data from Sensor Tower. Here's how the leading apps stacked up on the unified iOS and Android platforms.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike maintained a consistent download trend around the 34K to 44K mark, with notable spikes in mid-April. Weekly active users showed a healthy increase, peaking at nearly 990K in late May. Revenue also saw an upward trajectory, with late May bringing in approximately $279K.
AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run observed a fluctuating download count, with the highest around 37K in late May. The app's weekly active users grew steadily, reaching over 168K in mid-June. Revenue mirrored this positive trend, with an increase to over $137K in the same period.
The 2024 TCS London Marathon app saw a surge in downloads mid-April, likely due to the event's proximity, hitting a remarkable 194K. Weekly active users peaked at 182K shortly after. With no revenue data to report, the app's focus was clearly on providing value to event attendees and participants.
JustFit: Lazy Workout & Fit experienced a decline in downloads from 44K at the start of April to around 17K by June's end. Weekly active users had a slight dip but remained stable around the 150K mark. Revenue saw a downward trend, with late June earning roughly $53K.
Lastly, the NHS Couch to 5K app, while not generating revenue, boasted a significant download number in mid-April at 35K. The app's weekly active users reached a high of 159K in the same period, before gradually declining to around 125K by the quarter's end.
