In the third quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing market on Android in Costa Rica showed varied performance across the top apps. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated distinct trends in weekly downloads and active user engagement.
Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 8.3K in early July and reaching nearly 9.9K by the end of September. Active users for this app fluctuated slightly but maintained a strong presence, beginning the quarter with around 234K and concluding with close to 241K.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a growth in weekly downloads from 6.1K in early July to about 7.2K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users showed an upward trend, increasing from 207K to approximately 227K over the same period.
inDrive. Save on city rides recorded a moderate rise in downloads, peaking at 5.2K mid-quarter and settling at 4.9K towards the end. Active user numbers were relatively stable, fluctuating slightly but averaging around 54K throughout the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver maintained a steady download rate, starting at 1.7K and ending with 2K. Its active users increased modestly, beginning at 14.8K and rising to 16.1K by the end of September.
DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash observed a notable spike in downloads at the end of the quarter, jumping to over 3K from a previous steady range of around 1.2K. Active users displayed a significant increase, from approximately 17.8K at the start of the quarter to 21.6K by its end.
