In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps on Android in Nigeria demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the trends and usage patterns of these popular apps.
Telegram from Telegram FZ-LLC observed a notable rise in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $7.2K at the end of September. Downloads were dynamic, with a significant increase in late August, reaching about 459K. The app maintained a robust base of active users, starting at 6.7M in early July and closing the quarter slightly lower at 6.6M.
SMS Virtual - Receive SMS by Privacy Tec experienced a fluctuating revenue pattern, with the highest weekly revenue of around $2.2K in late August. Downloads peaked in late July at approximately 15.2K, while active users showed a gradual increase, reaching around 57K by mid-September.
SMS-Activate receive sms from Dimar LLC saw a gradual decline in weekly revenue, ending the quarter at $1.2K. Downloads remained relatively stable with a slight dip towards the end of September, while active users hovered around the 21K mark throughout the quarter.
Vyke: Second Phone/2nd Line by Vyke Telecoms Ltd showed a steady increase in revenue, reaching $1.6K by the end of September. Downloads had minor fluctuations, peaking at 2.3K in early July. The app's active user base remained consistent, closing the quarter at approximately 19K.
Numero: Travel eSIM & Numbers by Smarteletec S.L. experienced a modest rise in revenue, ending the quarter at $1K. Downloads saw a decline towards the end of the period, while active users followed a similar trend, decreasing to about 32K by late September.
