During the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the top communication apps on the Android platform in Venezuela showcased interesting trends. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, highlights the varying dynamics of user engagement and app popularity.
Telegram witnessed a notable increase in weekly revenue, starting from around $295 in early July and peaking at approximately $530 by mid-August. This increase was accompanied by fluctuating weekly downloads, which saw an initial boost from about 98K to 194K in early August before gradually declining to 65K by the end of September. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users fluctuating around 950K to 1M throughout the quarter.
WhatsApp Messenger did not generate any revenue during this period but maintained a stable presence with weekly downloads ranging from 78K to 90K in July and gradually decreasing to 57K by the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users consistently hovered around 16M, indicating a strong and steady user engagement.
WhatsApp Business also reported no revenue but showed consistent weekly downloads, fluctuating between 46K and 53K. The active user count remained stable, starting at 644K in early July and slightly increasing to around 652K by the end of September.
Messenger maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, beginning at 51K in early July and ending at 36K in September. The app's weekly active users remained stable, fluctuating around 1M, showcasing steady engagement despite the decline in downloads.
Lastly, Mi Movistar experienced a steady download rate, with figures moving between 40K and 52K. The app's active user base started at 243K and decreased slightly to about 221K by the end of the quarter.
