In the third quarter of 2024, the horror gaming scene on the Android platform in Latin America saw some interesting trends, with Granny, Hide in The Backrooms: Horror, Specimen Zero - Online horror, Granny 3, and Scary Teacher 3D leading the pack. Data from Sensor Tower provides a closer look at their performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
Granny from DVloper saw a fluctuating download pattern, starting strong with over 380K downloads in late July, then dipping to around 255K by early September, before slightly recovering to 306K by the end of the quarter. The game's weekly active users began at approximately 1.2M, peaking in late July with 1.3M, but gradually declined to stabilize at around 1.1M. Revenue for Granny was sporadic, with a peak of $6 in early August.
Hide in The Backrooms: Horror from CASUAL AZUR GAMES experienced a consistent decline in downloads, starting from 238K in early July and dropping to 123K by the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users showed a steady increase, reaching over 2.6M by the quarter's close. Revenue followed a varied pattern, peaking at $26 in late July and ending at $13.
Specimen Zero - Online horror by Café Studio Games started with modest downloads of 163K, rising to 214K by mid-July but eventually tapering off to 122K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users initially increased from 422K to 486K in mid-July, then slightly declined to 355K. Revenue showed a downward trend, from $519 at the start of the quarter to $440 by the end.
Granny 3, another title from DVloper, maintained a relatively stable download rate, beginning at 151K and ending at 119K. Its active user base saw a slight decline from 491K to 466K over the quarter. Notably, Granny 3 did not generate any revenue during this period.
Scary Teacher 3D by Z & K Games had a consistent download trajectory, peaking at 169K in late July before decreasing to 100K by the end of September. Weekly active users started at 1.1M, with a gradual decline to around 971K. Revenue experienced a slight dip, beginning at $150 and closing at $130.
