State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
During the third quarter of 2024, the Maps and Navigation category on Android in Costa Rica showcased varied performance across the top five apps. Data from Sensor Tower highlights trends in weekly downloads and active users, offering a glimpse into user preferences and app engagement.
Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent rise in weekly downloads, beginning at around 8.3K in early July and reaching nearly 9.9K by the end of September. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users fluctuating slightly but ending the quarter with approximately 240.8K users.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic displayed stable download numbers, starting with about 8.2K and closing the quarter with a similar figure. Active users for Waze remained relatively steady, with minor fluctuations around the 116K mark, peaking at 119.5K in early September.
Phone Tracker experienced notable variability in downloads. After a significant surge to 18.9K in mid-July, the numbers gradually tapered off to under 1K by the end of September. Despite this, active user engagement remained solid, peaking at 37.1K in mid-August and maintaining around 32.9K towards the quarter's end.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides had a moderate download trajectory, fluctuating between 5K and 7.2K weekly. Active users showed a positive trend, growing from 206.5K in early July to 227.4K by the end of September, underscoring a steady user base.
inDrive. Save on city rides recorded downloads ranging from 4.2K to 5.2K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. Active users, however, saw a gradual decline from nearly 59.5K at the start of the quarter to just over 51K by September's end.
