In the third quarter of 2024, the Middle East saw notable trends in the performance of the top shopping apps on the Android platform, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 256K in early July and peaking at approximately 362K by mid-September. Its active user base also grew steadily, beginning with 3.1M users and reaching nearly 3.8M in late August before a slight decline to 3.5M by the end of September.
SHEIN-Shopping Online began the quarter with weekly downloads of about 122K, which gradually decreased to around 74K by the end of September. The app's active users followed a similar downward trend, starting at 4.3M and dropping to approximately 3.2M over the quarter.
Trendyol - Online Alışveriş saw a fluctuating pattern in downloads, starting with 79K in early July and ending with 83K by the end of September, with a peak of 100K in the third week of September. The active users grew from 539K to 621K, showing a consistent upward trend throughout the quarter.
noon Shopping, Food, Grocery had a steady performance with downloads increasing from 61K to 62K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users rose from 1.3M to 1.4M, peaking at 1.4M in the last week of September.
Amazon Shopping maintained a steady revenue stream throughout the quarter, with weekly revenue ranging from $20K to $34K. Downloads started at 62K, with minor fluctuations, and ended slightly lower at 58K. Active users saw a high of 1.6M mid-July, settling at around 1.4M by the end of September.
