During the third quarter of 2024, the social app landscape in Egypt on the Android platform witnessed notable trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here, we explore the performance of the top five social apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
TikTok from TikTok Pte. Ltd. saw a remarkable rise in weekly revenue, starting at around $32K in early July and peaking at approximately $57K in early September. The app's weekly downloads fluctuated, hitting a high of over 292K in late August, while weekly active users steadily increased from 12.4M to over 13M by the end of September.
Facebook, developed by Meta Platforms, Inc., experienced a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching a peak of about $7.1K in mid-September. Weekly downloads showed variability, with a notable surge to 237K at the start of September. Meanwhile, the app maintained a strong user base, with active users climbing from 35.8M to 37M over the quarter.
Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat demonstrated a steady revenue trend, closing the quarter with approximately $6.2K in weekly revenue. Downloads peaked at over 30K in early August before stabilizing. The app's active user count rose significantly from 234K to 264K throughout the period.
Chamet - Live Video Chat faced a declining revenue trend, starting at $4.1K and ending the quarter at around $3K. Download numbers varied, with a peak of 6.7K in mid-August, while active users fluctuated, reaching a high of 33.5K in mid-August before settling at around 27.8K.
Who - Live Video Chat experienced modest revenue growth, ending at $3.5K in the last week of September. Downloads showed an upward trajectory, with a peak of nearly 8K in early September. The app's active user base grew from 18.4K to 25.5K over the quarter.
