In the third quarter of 2024, the top sports apps on the Android platform in the United States showed varied performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the trends for these leading apps, with insights from Sensor Tower.
ESPN from Disney experienced significant fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $1.2M in early July and peaking at around $1.5M in mid-September. Downloads saw a notable rise in late August, reaching a peak of about 131K. The active user base showed a consistent increase, climbing from 1.6M in early July to nearly 2M by the end of September.
The Olympics: Live Sports & News app saw its highest downloads in late July with around 358K, while active users peaked at approximately 483K at the end of July. However, both metrics declined significantly towards the end of the quarter.
8 Ball Pool by Miniclip.com maintained a steady weekly revenue, mostly ranging between $140K to $180K. Downloads varied, peaking at about 55K in mid-September, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 200K to 220K throughout the quarter.
FOX Sports: Watch Live had a download surge in early September, reaching nearly 102K. Active user numbers showed a similar trend, peaking at about 205K in early September before stabilizing around 180K to 200K towards the end of the quarter.
Lastly, EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer recorded its highest weekly revenue of approximately $282K in early July, with a general downward trend over the quarter. Downloads peaked at over 72K in late July, while the active user base remained robust, with figures consistently around 2M.
