During the third quarter of 2024, the top travel and local apps on Android in Italy exhibited a variety of performance trends, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user trends for the top five apps in this category.
Airbnb showed a stable trend in weekly downloads, starting the quarter at 34.6K and peaking mid-July with 48.4K downloads. The app's active users rose from 379.8K in early July to a high of 453.9K in mid-August, before declining to 320.7K by the end of September.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained strong weekly downloads, beginning at 43.3K and reaching 49.6K in late July. However, a downward trend was noticeable, with downloads dropping to 17.2K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 1.69M and decreasing to 1.27M throughout the quarter.
EasyPark - Parking made easy experienced an increase in downloads from 23.3K to a peak of 47.6K in mid-August, followed by a decline to 12.9K by the end of September. Its active user base fluctuated, starting at 147.2K, peaking at 168.3K in early August, and settling at 147.4K by the quarter's close.
Ryanair saw weekly downloads rise from 19.8K in early July to a high of 25.7K in mid-August, before tapering off to 18.7K by the end of September. Active users showed a similar pattern, beginning at 208K, peaking at 231.6K in late July, and closing the quarter at 184K.
trivago: Compare hotel prices reported an initial increase in downloads, reaching 26.6K in early August, before declining significantly to 3.1K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, with numbers rising to 55.4K in early August, then dropping to 17.9K by the quarter's end.
