The third quarter of 2024 showcased interesting trends for casual games on the iOS platform in the United States. According to Sensor Tower data, the top five games demonstrated varying dynamics in downloads, revenue, and active users, providing insight into their market performance.
MONOPOLY GO! from Scopely, Inc. saw fluctuating weekly revenues, peaking at about $20M in early July and late July. Weekly downloads started strong at around 292K in early July but gradually decreased to approximately 170K by the end of September. Active users mirrored this trend, beginning at over 811K and declining to around 628K by the quarter's end.
Royal Match by Dream Games maintained a consistent revenue stream, with a slight peak at $9.7M in early September. The game experienced a notable increase in downloads, starting at 148K and reaching 215K by the end of September. Active users fluctuated, starting at 831K and ending at approximately 756K.
Candy Crush Saga from King showed steady revenue performance, with minor peaks reaching about $6.4M in mid-September. Downloads remained relatively stable, averaging around 100K weekly. Active users also showed consistency, maintaining numbers close to 1M throughout the quarter.
Township by Playrix demonstrated an upward trend in downloads, beginning at 183K and peaking at 256K by the end of September. Revenue fluctuated slightly, with a peak of approximately $4.1M in mid-September. Active users showed a mild decline from 554K to 488K over the quarter.
Pokémon GO by Niantic, Inc. experienced a significant spike in revenue in early July, reaching $8.9M, before stabilizing around $2M to $3M for the remainder of the quarter. Downloads decreased slightly, from 80K to 69K. However, active users remained robust, averaging around 6.7M weekly.
