In the third quarter of 2024, the top five education apps on the iOS platform in Latin America showed varied performance metrics. Here's a detailed look at their downloads, revenue, and active user trends based on data from Sensor Tower.
Duolingo - Language Lessons saw a significant rise in weekly revenue, starting at around $187K in early July and peaking at approximately $281K by the end of September. Its weekly downloads remained robust, fluctuating between 102K and 123K, while active users grew steadily from 2.1M to 2.5M throughout the quarter.
Headway: Daily Book Summaries experienced a peak in weekly revenue in mid-July at around $82K, which then tapered off to about $64K by the end of September. Downloads saw a sharp decrease from 29K in mid-July to approximately 15K at the quarter's close. Active users followed a similar declining trend, dropping from 180K to around 146K.
Toca Boca World had a notable spike in early July with revenue reaching about $93K, but it declined steadily to around $34K by the end of September. Downloads started strong at 46K but fell to approximately 34K. Active users also decreased from 346K to 232K over the quarter.
Lingokids - Play and Learn maintained a relatively stable revenue stream, with weekly figures hovering around $51K-$56K. Downloads showed a downturn from 24K in early July to about 18K by the end of September. Active users decreased slightly from 61K to 57K during this period.
Speak English with Praktika had a varied revenue pattern, starting at $29K and closing the quarter at around $28K. Downloads fluctuated, initially at 18K, dipping to about 9K in mid-September, before rising again to 13K. Active users saw an increase from 65K to 77K by the end of September.
