In the third quarter of 2024, South Africa's top food delivery apps on the iOS platform demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Mr D - Groceries & Takeaway showed a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 8K in early July and reaching a peak of 9.1K by the end of September. The app maintained a healthy number of weekly active users, starting at 62K and peaking at around 65K towards the end of the quarter.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery experienced consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 6.3K to 7.8K, with a noticeable increase towards the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed stability, hovering around 115K, with a slight uptick reaching 119K in late September.
Zulzi exhibited a significant spike in downloads in late July, reaching 23K, before stabilizing around the lower range of approximately 1K to 2K throughout the rest of the quarter.
OneCart: Shopping On Demand saw a varied pattern in downloads, with numbers fluctuating between 650 and 1.7K. The app had a notable increase in early September, peaking at 1.7K downloads.
Astron Energy maintained relatively stable download numbers, fluctuating slightly between 470 and 740 throughout the quarter.
