In the third quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Bahrain showed varied download trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these trends highlight the competitive landscape among the top five apps in this category.
Uber - Request a ride saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 1.2K in early July and ending at around 905 by the end of September. The app maintained consistent download activity, although there was a noticeable decrease over the quarter.
Similarly, Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a peak in downloads in late July, reaching 673, followed by a steady decline to 439 by the last week of September. This trend suggests a diminishing interest or market saturation over the quarter.
Careem – rides, food & more showed relatively stable download numbers throughout the quarter, fluctuating slightly but maintaining an average of around 400 downloads per week. This consistency indicates a steady user base.
Meanwhile, inDrive. Save on city rides faced a decline from early July, where it started at 414 downloads, to 297 by the end of September. The app's downloads decreased steadily, reflecting a possible shift in user preference or increased competition.
Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery had a modest presence with downloads starting at 235 in early July, peaking at 299, and then tapering off to 200 by the end of the quarter. This trend suggests a relatively stable but limited market penetration in Bahrain.
