During the third quarter of 2024, the top consumer finance applications in the United Kingdom displayed a range of performance metrics across downloads and active users, as measured by Sensor Tower. Here, we explore the trends for the top five apps on the unified platform.
Monzo - Mobile Banking maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting at about 74K and reaching over 100K by the end of September. Its active user base also showed a steady climb, beginning at approximately 2.9M and rising to over 3.2M by the quarter's end.
Lloyds Mobile Banking saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 46K and peaking at nearly 55K by the end of September. The app's active users fluctuated but generally trended upwards from 2.6M to over 2.6M by the end of the quarter.
NatWest Mobile Banking experienced a consistent upward trend in downloads, beginning at around 32K and peaking at over 40K mid-quarter before settling at 36K. Active users also increased from about 2.6M to 2.7M over the quarter.
Barclays UK downloads showed a mixed trend with a peak mid-quarter at 47K, ending at around 33K. However, active users generally increased from approximately 2.9M to over 3M by the end of September.
Finally, Halifax Mobile Banking downloads saw a slight increase from around 29K to over 35K in early September, before tapering off to 29K. Active users exhibited slight fluctuations, starting at 1.5M and ending at around 1.4M.
