State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the third quarter of 2024, Brazil's entertainment app market saw diverse trends among the top five applications on a unified platform, as revealed by Sensor Tower data.
Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + from GLOBO COM. E PART. S/A showed a mixed performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at approximately $783K in mid-July before declining to $521K by the end of September. Downloads decreased overall, starting at 387K in early July and ending at 220K in late September. However, active users remained relatively strong, with a slight dip from 7.2M in early July to 5.8M by the end of the quarter.
Disney+ maintained a consistent performance throughout the quarter. Revenue rose to a high of $569K in late September, while downloads displayed a downward trend from 332K to 178K. Active users fluctuated, reaching a peak of 3.5M in late September.
Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies from WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC experienced a steady decline in downloads, from 433K in early July to 213K by the end of September. Revenue saw a similar trend, starting at $397K and ending at $300K. However, active users increased slightly, reaching 6.8M at the end of September.
Crunchyroll, published by Crunchyroll, LLC, had a stable revenue stream, ranging from $151K to $158K. Downloads decreased significantly from 243K at the start of the quarter to 120K by the end. Active users also saw a decline, from 1.8M to 1.6M.
Amazon Prime Video showed growth in revenue, climbing from $94K to $143K by the end of the quarter. Downloads were volatile, peaking at 434K in late July before stabilizing around 181K in late September. Active users showed a slight decrease, ending the quarter at 2.4M.
