In the third quarter of 2024, the entertainment app landscape in Sweden saw some interesting trends across the top five apps on the unified platform, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies experienced significant growth in both weekly revenue and active users. Revenue peaked at approximately $507K in late August, while downloads reached a high of about 68K during the same period. Active users increased steadily, concluding the quarter with over 309K.
Amazon Prime Video maintained a consistent performance. Weekly revenue showed a gradual rise, ending the quarter at around $82K. Downloads saw a substantial spike in late August, reaching approximately 46K. Active users fluctuated slightly but finished strong at nearly 97K.
Disney+ saw a notable increase in revenue and active users. Revenue soared to about $743K in mid-September, while downloads peaked at approximately 36K in late September. Active users remained robust, staying above 500K throughout the quarter.
TikTok showed steady user engagement with active users consistently around 2.5M. Revenue fluctuated, peaking at approximately $428K in late August. Downloads remained stable, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 14K.
SVT Play focused on user engagement, with active users rising to about 97K by the end of the quarter. While downloads were relatively stable, peaking at around 13K in early July, revenue data was not available for the period.
