In the third quarter of 2024, Mexico's finance app market saw notable trends among the top five applications on a unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting patterns in downloads and active users, providing insights into user engagement and app popularity.
BBVA México showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 193K in early July and peaking at approximately 238K by the last week of August. Active users fluctuated slightly but maintained a strong presence, hovering around 10M, with a peak of 10.7M in late August.
The Mercado Pago: cuenta digital app experienced an upward trend in weekly downloads, beginning at 165K and reaching over 215K by the end of September. Its active user base expanded significantly, growing from 4.5M in early July to over 5.1M by the end of the quarter.
Nubank: Conta, Cartão e mais maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with numbers consistently around 146K to 169K. Active users also increased steadily, rising from 3.4M to 3.6M by the end of September.
DiDi Finanzas saw gradual growth in downloads, starting at 136K and culminating in 174K by the last week of September. Its active user numbers also rose, from 1.8M at the beginning of July to 2.3M by the end of the quarter.
Finally, Banco Azteca experienced a stable download pattern, beginning at 121K and reaching 150K in late August. Active users remained robust, ranging from 4.1M to 4.5M throughout the quarter.
