During the third quarter of 2024, food delivery services in Central America experienced varying trends in downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's an overview of the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform.
Rappi: Food Delivery, Grocery maintained a consistent weekly revenue throughout the quarter, fluctuating between $2K and $5K. The app saw a peak in downloads at approximately 120K in early July, followed by a gradual decline, closing the quarter with around 95K downloads. Active users showed resilience, with numbers staying above 1.5M, despite minor fluctuations.
DiDi Food: Express Delivery did not generate any revenue, but it managed to maintain a stable download rate. Downloads peaked at around 102K in mid-August, with a slight decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users saw a dip in July, but numbers rebounded to over 1.5M by the end of September.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery also reported no revenue for the quarter. However, downloads surged to over 125K in late July before settling around 95K by the end of September. The app's active user base remained robust, fluctuating slightly but generally staying above 1.1M.
PedidosYa - Delivery Online experienced a consistent download pattern, with numbers hovering around 50K weekly throughout the quarter. Active users remained stable, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching over 1.1M.
Juntos+ did not report revenue, but its downloads steadily increased from about 19K in early July to over 28K by mid-September. Active users grew consistently, starting at around 77K and closing the quarter at approximately 125K.
