In the third quarter of 2024, the top music and podcast apps in Switzerland showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue fluctuating between approximately $89K and $118K. Downloads experienced a gradual increase, peaking at about 8.7K in the final week of September. The app's active user base remained robust, consistently hovering around 1.7M throughout the quarter.
Play SRF: Streaming TV & Radio saw its downloads peak at the start of the quarter with 8.3K, followed by a downward trend, stabilizing around 3.5K by the end of September. The weekly active user count mirrored this pattern, starting at 36.8K and ending slightly higher at 33.6K.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts downloads remained relatively stable, starting the quarter at 3.5K and closing at 3.7K. The active user base showed some fluctuations, reaching a high of over 500K in late July before settling at around 446K by the end of the quarter.
YouTube Music experienced stable revenue ranging from $50K to $71K weekly. Downloads were consistent, averaging around 2K per week, while the active user base saw modest growth, peaking at over 812K mid-September.
Swiss Radio / Schweiz / Suisse had a steady revenue stream, fluctuating slightly around $300. Downloads showed a slight decline over the quarter, starting at 2K and ending at 1.7K, while active users remained stable, averaging around 2.1K.
