During the third quarter of 2024, the top five navigation and maps applications in Finland showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users as observed by Sensor Tower.
Google Maps experienced a steady stream of weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 5.4K in mid-July. Active users remained robust, starting at around 615K early in the quarter and slightly decreasing to about 574K by the end of September.
Karttaselain - Maastokartta reported significant revenue fluctuations, reaching as high as $11.8K in early July and tapering off to $5K by the end of the quarter. Downloads peaked at 9.4K in late July, while active users saw an initial peak of 5K, settling at around 2.2K in late September.
Google Earth maintained a consistent download rate, averaging around 1.7K per week. The app's active users hovered steadily around 15K throughout the quarter.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a declining trend in downloads, starting at over 2.1K and decreasing to about 1.4K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging between 49K and 51K during the quarter.
GPS Map Navigation saw modest weekly revenue, with a notable peak of $299 in late July. Downloads varied, with a low of 786 in early September and a high of 1.4K in late July. Active users showed a consistent increase, beginning at approximately 4.3K and ending at 3.7K by the end of September.
