In the third quarter of 2024, the navigation and maps app landscape in Hungary saw varied performance among the top five applications, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at each app's trends in downloads and active user engagement.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a fluctuating download pattern throughout the quarter. Downloads began at approximately 9.7K and peaked mid-July at 11.7K, before gradually declining to around 6.9K by the end of September. Weekly active users remained relatively steady, starting at 311K and showing mild fluctuations, closing the quarter at approximately 291K.
Google Maps Go maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 7.6K and ending at 6.7K, with a slight peak of 8.6K in late July. Active users showed a slight downward trend from 366K in early July to 342K by the end of the quarter, with minor fluctuations throughout.
Google Earth saw a modest download trajectory, beginning at 2.8K and gradually decreasing to 1.9K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users exhibited a similar trend, starting at 18.9K and ending the quarter at approximately 17.1K.
vintrica.com E-Vignettes showed an interesting spike in downloads, starting with only 32 and reaching a peak of 4.3K in early August, before settling at around 1.1K by the end of September. The active user base mirrored this pattern, increasing from 49 to 4.4K over the quarter.
GPS Voice Navigation: Live Map had a steady flow of downloads, beginning at 1.3K and maintaining a consistent level of around 1K towards the end of the quarter. Active users exhibited a gradual increase from 8.2K to 10.6K, showing a growing engagement over the period.
