State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the third quarter of 2024, leading navigation and maps apps in Italy showcased varied trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users on a unified platform. Here’s a detailed look at the top five applications.
Google Maps Go maintained a consistent presence with downloads fluctuating between approximately 38K and 53K weekly. Despite the absence of revenue data, its weekly active users started at about 8.96M, experiencing a gradual decline to around 8.67M by the end of the quarter.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic observed a notable increase in downloads, peaking at roughly 59K mid-quarter before settling back to about 30K by the end of September. Its active user base began at 1.31M, rose to 1.52M in mid-August, and concluded the quarter at approximately 1.35M.
Google Earth experienced steady downloads, ranging from 20K to 26K, while its weekly active users showed a slight decline from 272K to 241K over the quarter. Although revenue data was not available, the app maintained a consistent user base.
Live Earth Map & GPS Map saw a significant peak in downloads in mid-August at 17K, followed by a decline to 5K by the end of September. Active users increased from 15K to a peak of 32K in August, then decreased to 25K towards the quarter's end.
GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation from AppStar Studios displayed a consistent revenue stream, with weekly figures hovering around $136 to $226. Downloads showed a peak of 11K in late August, and active users reached a high of 31K in late July, ending the quarter slightly lower at 27K.
