Top Navigation and Maps Apps in Russia, Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps applications in Russia demonstrated varying performance trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. The data from Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive overview of the market dynamics for these apps on a unified platform.

Yandex Maps and Navigator showed a steady revenue increase, peaking at approximately $1.9K by the end of September. Downloads experienced a decline over the quarter, dropping from around 230K in early July to about 151K by the end of September. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, peaking at 15.5M in early September before settling at 15M.

2GIS: Offline map & navigation maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, starting at 194K and ending at 172K. The app's weekly active users exhibited growth, increasing from 5.2M in early July to 5.5M by the end of September.

Yandex Navigator experienced a slight revenue decline, starting at $8.9K and ending at $7.8K. Downloads decreased from 130K to 106K over the quarter, while weekly active users also saw a downward trend, moving from 3.5M to 3.1M.

Google Maps had a modest download performance, beginning the quarter with 54K downloads and concluding with 39K. The app's weekly active users decreased from 3.6M to 2.9M, reflecting a decline in user engagement over the period.
