In the third quarter of 2024, Brazil's top news applications demonstrated diverse trends across downloads, revenue, and active users on a unified platform, according to Sensor Tower data.
X by X Corp. saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $33K in early August, before declining to about $12K by the end of September. Downloads were strong, reaching a high of around 242K in late August, yet tapered off to about 52K in the last week of September. Active users initially hovered around 12M in July, but diminished significantly to roughly 5.4M by the quarter's close.
Valor Econômico - Exclusivo exhibited a steady weekly revenue pattern, fluctuating between $5.6K and $9.1K throughout the quarter. Despite a relatively low download rate, peaking at 499 in mid-August, the app maintained its presence in the market.
The Economist - News, Podcasts experienced modest revenue growth, ending the quarter at approximately $4.3K. Downloads were consistent but low, with numbers dropping to 317 by the end of September. Active users remained stable, averaging around 3K throughout the quarter.
Folha de S.Paulo saw its highest weekly revenue of $5.9K in early September, with a noticeable increase in downloads to about 54K in the final week of the quarter. Active users also saw a significant rise, culminating at approximately 155K by September's end.
O Globo maintained a steady revenue stream, peaking at $4.3K in late September. Downloads showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 2.5K. Active users remained relatively consistent, closing the quarter with nearly 29.5K.
