In the third quarter of 2024, Brazil's social networking app landscape exhibited diverse trends across downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower, Threads had a notable rise in downloads, peaking at approximately 1.7M in early September. Weekly active users for Threads also surged, reaching around 23.3M by the end of September.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong user base with weekly active users hovering around 115M throughout the quarter. Although downloads saw fluctuations, they reached a high of about 1.1M in early August.
Facebook experienced consistent revenue increments, peaking at approximately $26K in late September. Downloads remained stable, with a noticeable peak of over 500K at the start of August. However, weekly active users showed a slight downward trend, closing the quarter at around 82.2M.
Telegram Messenger showed a steady increase in revenue, culminating at nearly $48K in the final week of September. Downloads demonstrated a gradual decline, with the lowest point at about 266K at the end of the quarter. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 16M.
Lastly, Google Meet saw a consistent number of downloads, with a slight peak of around 87K in mid-August. The app's weekly active users increased steadily, ending the quarter with approximately 2.8M.
