According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varied trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users, reflecting the dynamic nature of user engagement in this sector.
Threads, developed by Instagram, Inc., saw its downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter. Starting at approximately 74K in early July, downloads dipped slightly but surged to over 121K by mid-September. The app's weekly active users steadily increased, moving from around 851K to nearly 1.1M by the end of September, showcasing growing user engagement.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with its download numbers climbing from 86K in early July to over 112K in mid-September. The active user base also showed a positive trend, rising from about 5.7M to 6M weekly active users by the end of the quarter.
Facebook experienced a stable download rate, with numbers hovering around 50K per week, and saw a peak of 53K in mid-September. The app's weekly revenue varied, peaking at around $20.7K in early September. Weekly active users remained strong, consistently above 17.9M, peaking at over 18.2M in mid-September.
Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. had a consistent download pattern, with numbers around 73K to 82K weekly. Revenue showed modest growth, reaching around $504 in mid-September. The app's weekly active users remained stable, with slight fluctuations, ending the quarter at about 16.7M.
Finally, Telegram Messenger demonstrated a steady increase in revenue, peaking at approximately $53.3K in late September. Downloads varied, starting at 38K and reaching over 41K by the end of the quarter. The weekly active users for Telegram maintained a steady increase, ending the quarter at about 1.36M.
