In the third quarter of 2024, the United Kingdom's tools app market saw varied performance among its top five applications on a unified platform. Here's a closer look at their trends, as captured by Sensor Tower.
PDF Reader by Welkin Team demonstrated a dramatic increase in weekly downloads, peaking at over 214K in the week of September 9. Active users also mirrored this growth, climbing to 230K in the same period before settling at 119K by the end of the quarter.
The GOV.UK ID Check app maintained consistent engagement with weekly downloads averaging around 70K to 140K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a similar stability, reaching over 1M by the end of September.
For UK Immigration: ID Check, weekly downloads showed a significant increase early in the quarter, peaking at 123K in late July. Active users grew steadily, culminating at approximately 564K by the end of September.
Samsung Smart Switch Mobile saw stable weekly download numbers, hovering around 30K to 36K throughout the quarter. Active users remained consistent, with a slight decline towards the end of the quarter, closing at 90K.
Lastly, Secure VPN-Safer Internet from Secure Signal Inc. experienced a notable revenue increase, peaking at over $3K in the final week of September. Downloads were initially high, reaching 66K in mid-August, but gradually declined towards the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated but ended on a positive note with over 126K by September's close.
