During the third quarter of 2024, the travel app market in Egypt saw varied performance across the top five apps on a unified platform, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the trends in weekly downloads and active users for these popular travel applications.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, starting at around 111K and seeing fluctuations throughout the quarter, ending at approximately 103K. The app's weekly active users started the quarter at about 574K, with a noticeable decline to a low of 489K before slightly recovering to 513K by the end of September.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at nearly 69K in late July before declining to around 51K by the end of the quarter. The app maintained a fairly stable number of weekly active users, hovering around 200K throughout the period.

Uber - Request a ride saw weekly downloads starting at approximately 42K and reaching a peak of about 50K in early August, before gradually decreasing to around 42K by the end of September. Weekly active users began at 926K, increased to over 1M mid-quarter, and then declined to around 895K by the end of the period.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel had a steady decline in weekly downloads from 17K at the start of the quarter to just under 7K by the end. The app's active user base also saw a gradual decrease, dropping from about 190K to 163K over the same period.

Lastly, Swvl - Daily Bus Rides exhibited a downward trend in weekly downloads, beginning at around 9.6K and ending at approximately 5.8K. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, with numbers decreasing from about 28K to 17.5K by the end of September.
