In the fourth quarter of 2024, the dating app landscape in Australia presented interesting trends across the top five applications, as analyzed by Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Date & Chat saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $1.2M by the end of December, following a steady increase from the start of the quarter. Weekly downloads reached a high of around 12.5K in the last week of December, while weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at about 467K mid-quarter.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Meet experienced a consistent increase in revenue, reaching $388K in early November before a slight decline to $310K by the end of December. Downloads saw an upward spike, peaking at nearly 14.8K in the final week. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight peak in mid-December at around 357K.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date showed a gradual increase in revenue, peaking at $353K in early November, before tapering off to $283K by year-end. Downloads were more volatile, with numbers ranging from 8K to 10K, while active users saw a notable peak of 311K in mid-November.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat maintained a steady revenue flow, with peaks of $170K in late December. Weekly downloads hovered around 2.5K, while active users peaked at 66K in early November before a gradual decline.
Plenty of Fish : Dating App showed stable revenue, peaking at $84K in late December. Downloads remained modest, with a slight increase to over 3.1K by the end of the quarter. Active users saw a steady increase, peaking at 34K in mid-October.
