In the fourth quarter of 2024, several dating apps showcased their performance trends on a unified platform in South Africa. Here's an overview of the top five apps, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date from Tinder LLC experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $55K in mid-December. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of approximately 16.4K at the end of December, while weekly active users steadily increased, peaking at over 310K.
Dating and Chat - iHappy showed varied trends. Weekly downloads reached a high of 19.4K at the beginning of October, but saw a decline towards the end of the quarter. Revenue remained relatively stable, with a slight increase in December, and active users peaked at around 66K mid-December.
Badoo Dating App: Meet & Date saw consistent weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $13.8K in late December. Downloads were steady, with a slight decrease towards the end of the year. Active users peaked at around 136K at the start of December but saw a decline afterward.
OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative had a steady increase in downloads, reaching a peak of about 14.4K in the last week of December. Revenue saw minor fluctuations, with a peak of $1.3K in mid-October. Active users increased significantly, peaking at over 55K at the end of December.
Pickup Lines - Flirt Messages from Prometheus Interactive LLC experienced a steady trend in weekly downloads, with an increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 8.4K. Revenue remained low, with minor variations, and active users increased steadily, reaching a peak of about 184K mid-December.
