State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the travel and local app market in Spain saw notable activity among the top applications. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps experienced varying trends in downloads and active users.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with approximately 42.4K downloads and peaking at 43.4K in early December. Active user numbers also varied, starting at 3.3M and ending the quarter higher at 3.3M, indicating healthy user engagement.
Airbnb maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 38.4K and reaching a low of 22.9K in mid-December before closing the quarter at 25.4K. Active users showed a recovery trend, dropping to 983K in early November but climbing back to 1.2M by the end of December.
Renfe experienced a decline in downloads from 31K to a low of 16.7K in early November, followed by a gradual increase to 25.4K by year-end. The app's active users mirrored this pattern, starting with 1M, peaking at 1.2M in late November, and ending at 914K.
Tarjeta Transporte had a significant spike in downloads, particularly in mid-November, reaching 52K. Active users also saw a peak at 720K, although the quarter ended with a decline to 539K.
Lastly, Omio: Book your travel tickets experienced a decrease in downloads from 20.3K in early October to a low of 10.7K in mid-December. Active users, however, remained relatively stable, starting at 234K and ending at 239K.
