In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the top communication apps on the Android platform in Romania showed varying trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, provided by Sensor Tower, offers insights into the app market dynamics for the period.
Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, peaking at around 57.9K in early January, but gradually declining to approximately 30.5K by the end of March. Revenue for Messenger was minimal, with a notable increase to $93 in the final week. The app maintained a strong user base with active users starting at 6M and ending slightly lower at 5.7M.
WhatsApp Messenger showed a consistent pattern in weekly downloads, starting at 38.2K and ending with 25.4K. The app's active user base remained steady, hovering around 12.4M throughout the quarter, without generating any revenue during this period.
Snapchat from Snap Inc saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, reaching a high of $7.5K in late February. Downloads started at 28.4K and decreased to 18.1K by the end of March. Active users saw a slight decline from approximately 1.4M to 1.2M.
Telegram experienced steady weekly downloads, starting at 16.4K and ending around 13.4K. Revenue peaked at $5.8K in mid-February. Active users saw a decline from 1.5M to 1.4M over the quarter.
Pi Browser observed a significant surge in weekly downloads, peaking at 64.5K in late February before dropping to around 2.4K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing to 55.7K and then decreasing to 22.4K.
