In the first quarter of 2025, the sandbox gaming category on Android in the United Kingdom showcased some intriguing trends. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five sandbox games, with insights from Sensor Tower.
Roblox experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly revenue. Starting at approximately $775K in early January, it saw a dip to around $262K mid-month, before peaking again at $542K in mid-February. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of 82K in the last week of March. Despite a slight decline in weekly active users from 3.2M to 2.7M, the game maintained a robust user base.
Melon Sandbox showed a consistent upward trend in revenue, reaching $3.5K by mid-March. Downloads peaked at 10.9K in early February, while weekly active users increased from 126K to 147K, indicating a growing interest among players.
Block Craft 3D:Building Game saw modest revenue growth, peaking at $335 in mid-February. Downloads varied, with a high of 9.8K in January. The game maintained a stable user base, with active users peaking at 66K in mid-January.
Craft Block World Building, launched in late February, quickly gained traction with downloads peaking at 37K in mid-March. Active users also surged to 53K during the same period, reflecting its growing popularity.
SprunkiCraft had a steady start, with downloads peaking at 17.5K in late January. However, a downward trend followed, with weekly downloads decreasing to 514 by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at 16K post-launch and declining to 7K.
