In the first quarter of 2025, the top sandbox-like games on the Android platform in Australia showcased varied performance trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for these popular apps, with data provided by Sensor Tower.
Roblox saw a notable fluctuation in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $191K and ending at nearly $99K by the end of March. Downloads peaked at 43.7K in mid-January before stabilizing around 33K in March. Active users hovered around 800K, showing some slight fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Minecraft: Play with Friends maintained a steady weekly revenue, averaging around $12K, with a slight peak at $13K in mid-January. Downloads increased significantly, reaching 1.1K in mid-February. Active users remained stable, averaging around 125K throughout the quarter.
One State RP - Role Play Life experienced moderate weekly revenue growth, peaking at $3.1K in late January. Downloads varied, with a high of 1.6K at the start of January and a low of 544 at the end of March. Active users started at 1.6K but saw a decline to 614 by the quarter's end.
IMVU: Social Chat & Avatar app had a consistent weekly revenue around $1.5K, with a peak of $1.8K in February. Downloads decreased over the quarter, from 534 in early January to just 60 by the end of March. Active users also saw a decline, starting at 894 and dropping to 526.
Melon Sandbox showed a positive trend in weekly revenue, starting at $520 and rising to $1.1K by the end of March. Downloads peaked at 2.9K in early February. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 40K throughout the quarter.
