During the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the leading word puzzle games on the Android platform in Europe varied significantly. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each of the top five games, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Word Search Explorer from PlaySimple Games saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $2.2K in mid-February. Weekly downloads reached a high of approximately 538K in the week of February 17, although there was a slight decline to about 432K by the end of March. The game maintained a strong user base with weekly active users climbing from 1.5M to over 2.1M by the quarter's end.
Words of Wonders: Crossword by Fugo Games experienced a downward trend in weekly revenue, starting at about $12.4K and dropping to around $8.8K by late March. Downloads decreased from 360K to 216K over the quarter, with active users fluctuating but ending at a robust 4.67M.
Zen Word® - Relax Puzzle Game from Oakever Games showed a decline in both downloads and active users throughout the quarter. Weekly revenue started at $11.5K, dipping to around $10.2K by March. Downloads fell from 312K to 88K, while active users decreased from 1.38M to 1.22M.
Word Search - Evolution Puzzle by Malpa Games had a relatively stable performance in terms of downloads, peaking at 137K in late January. The revenue was minimal, peaking at $100 in February. Weekly active users saw a slight downturn but stabilized at around 374K by the end of March.
Crossword Master - Word Puzzle from Easybrain demonstrated significant growth, especially in the latter half of the quarter. Weekly revenue increased from $503 to $1.03K. Downloads surged to 429K in early March, while active users grew substantially from 42K to nearly 700K.
