State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!

In the first quarter of 2025, the top beauty retail apps on the iOS platform in the United States showed varied performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on Sensor Tower data.
Ulta Beauty: Makeup & Skincare saw weekly downloads start strong at around 125K in early January, with a slight decline to approximately 70K by the end of March. Active users also fluctuated, peaking at over 4.1M in mid-March before dipping to about 3.5M at the quarter's close.
Sephora US: Makeup & Skincare experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, climbing from about 63K at the end of January to over 123K by the end of March. Active users showed a recovery from a low of approximately 1.9M in February to over 2.5M by the end of the quarter.
Bath & Body Works | B&BW had a notable increase in weekly downloads in February, reaching over 80K. Active users peaked at nearly 2.4M in February but saw a decline to around 1.5M by the end of March.
Scentbird Perfume Box maintained a relatively stable download rate, with numbers hovering around 9K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight increase, peaking at over 78K in early March.
Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics experienced a decline in weekly downloads from about 23K at the start of January to around 4.5K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, decreasing from 77K to approximately 36K over the quarter.
