In the first quarter of 2025, the iOS platform in Ireland saw notable activity in city building games, with several apps showing interesting trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a breakdown of how the top five city building games performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.
SimCity BuildIt by Electronic Arts showed a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 209 and dropping to 22 by the end of March. Revenue followed a similar trend, peaking at approximately $1.7K at the beginning of January and stabilizing around $433 by the quarter's end. Active users saw a decrease from 930 to 506 over the same period.
Merge County from Microfun Limited experienced fluctuations in revenue, reaching a high of about $402 in early February, while downloads remained relatively low, peaking at 52 mid-February. Weekly active users saw a slight increase, moving from 97 to 82 by the end of March.
Puzzles & Chaos: Frozen Castle by BUILDING-BLOCKS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CO. had a modest rise in revenue, reaching $301 in late February. However, downloads were minimal, with nearly no activity for several weeks. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with 49.
Family Guy The Quest for Stuff from Jam City, Inc. saw a consistent revenue stream, peaking at $190 in late February. Downloads varied, with a high of 95 in January, while active users remained steady, starting at 182 and closing at 190.
Finally, Trailer Park Boys Greasy Money by Eastside Games had an increase in active users, reaching 233 in mid-March. Revenue peaked at $191 in early February, and downloads fluctuated, with a peak of 76 in March.
