In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of top beauty retail applications in Australia on a unified platform showcased diverse trends in downloads and active user engagement. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared:
MECCA - Beauty Shopping saw a significant spike in weekly downloads, reaching approximately 20.5K in mid-January. However, the numbers gradually settled to around 4.9K by the end of March. The app maintained a robust weekly active user base, starting at 139K and exhibiting minor fluctuations, concluding the quarter at 136K.
Sephora - Beauty Shopping experienced a consistent download rate, with a notable increase to 7.1K in mid-March. The app's active user count began at 77K and saw a peak of 78K in the final week, indicating a steady user engagement throughout the quarter.
Adore Beauty | Shop Beauty Now had a fluctuating download pattern, peaking at 3.2K in late February. Active users showed a slight decline from 35K at the start to 31K by the end of the quarter, with a brief surge to 38K in February.
Think Dirty – Shop Clean displayed a varied trend in weekly downloads, with a peak of 2.5K in late February. Revenue peaked at $856 in mid-January, while active users saw a peak of 4.8K at the same time.
Finally, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics reported a decrease in downloads from 3.9K at the start to 269 by the end of March. Weekly active users also declined from 4.9K to 737 over the quarter.
