In the first quarter of 2025, the United Kingdom's top dining and restaurant apps demonstrated notable trends on a unified platform, combining data from both iOS and Android. This analysis, based on Sensor Tower data, provides insights into the performance of the leading apps in this category.
McDonald’s U.K. saw a consistent number of weekly downloads, with figures ranging from approximately 52.7K to 72.3K. Despite fluctuations, the app maintained a strong presence, ending the quarter with around 59.9K downloads. The app’s weekly active users remained robust, peaking at about 4.6M in mid-February.
The Greggs App - Food & Drink experienced a steady download rate, starting at 40.1K and peaking at 61.8K in early February. Active users also showed a gradual increase, starting from 1.3M and reaching up to 1.7M by mid-March.
For Subway - UK & I, weekly downloads varied between 28.7K and 43.2K, with a slight decline towards the end of the quarter. Active users peaked at 584.8K in mid-February, reflecting a strong engagement during this period.
Burger King UK - Food Rewards saw a dramatic spike in downloads, reaching 129.3K in early March. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at 697.2K, indicating a significant boost in user activity during this time.
Lastly, the Costa Coffee Club app maintained a stable download pattern, with figures ranging from 27.9K to 35.7K. Active users peaked at 2.7M in January, showcasing sustained user engagement throughout the quarter.
