In the first quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in Belgium showed diverse performance metrics on a unified platform. Here's a breakdown of the trends for each app.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a steady presence throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads saw an initial increase from 13.6K to 17K by mid-January, followed by fluctuations leading to a peak of 17.3K in late February. Active users rose from 2.15M to 2.34M, reflecting a consistent user base.
Google Maps experienced a more stable trend. Downloads ranged between 6.2K and 8.4K, while active users increased from 6M to 6.26M, indicating strong engagement.
Polarsteps Travel showed notable growth in downloads, reaching 9.6K by the end of March. However, active users decreased from 129K to 108K, suggesting a shift in user activity.
Google Earth maintained modest download numbers, peaking at 5.2K in mid-January. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at approximately 55K.
RouteYou - walking and cycling displayed a significant increase in revenue, culminating at $3.2K by March. Downloads rose to 7K, while active users saw a peak of 25.7K.
